Lake Country

Lake Country is a district municipality with a population of approximately 15,000 in the Okanagan Valley. It is a part of the Central Okanagan Regional District, and of the Kelowna metropolitan area. The city of Kelowna lies to the south, while the city of Vernon lies to the north. Lake Country is one of the fastest growing communities in the Okanagan. Surrounding the town of Winfield, Lake Country spans across the mountain side where you will find some of the finest wineries in the world. Lake Country is home to a mix of residential housing including mountain side living, lakefront living, condo and lakeview developments. There are a number of wonderful schools in Lake Country, including; Peter Greer Elementary located just below Sunburnt Hill and on the towns east side, George Elliot Secondary School, the brand new HS Grenda Middle School and Davidson Road Elementary.  The town within Lake Country is called Winfield and it is is home home to popular local businesses such as the Turtle Bay Pub and The Greek House Restaurant.  You will also find big box stores like Save On, Shoppers Drug Mart and IGA as well as a mix of fast food restaurants. Lake Country is also situated on the famous rail trail which runs from Vernon right to downtown Kelowna.  The other bonus to Lake Country is it’s close proximity to the Kelowna International Airport.
